Spotlight On. . . Pioneros

Gorgeous leather pieces just at home on the yard as the high street – Pioneros are the place for beautiful polo belts and handbags.

They say…
“Pioneros started in the UK in 2003 as a family business producing fine quality leather goods from Argentina. The business’s family connections in Argentina go back to before 1745, in the Spanish colonial days, long before Argentina gained independence in 1816. In fact we have ancestors who fought on both sides of the independence wars! One even founded a small town, Mariano H. Alfonzo, in the province of Buenos Aires.

More recently, Fiona and Sandra’s Great Grandfather left Great Britain by ship for the Argentine in the late 1800s as one of the early pioneers working on the Railways. At that time it took six weeks to travel there by ship. He then established an Estancia which our family has been farming ever since. Alejandro and Sandra manage the manufacturing side of Pioneros in Argentina, while Robin & Fiona manage the UK and Export side.

We have our own family-run workshop in Buenos Aires, where we create, develop and produce the designs for our collections of handmade leather goods, using local craftsmen and the fine quality leathers that Argentina is renowned for.”
