News: Alan Titchmarsh to Judge Class 9 – Open Fancy Dress

The organisers of Virtual Windsor are delighted to announce that Alan Titchmarsh will be the guest judge of Class 9, The Open Fancy Dress.

At Royal Windsor Horse Show, the Riding for the Disabled Fancy Dress Competition sponsored by The Lions Club of Windsor and supported by The Royal Borough Observer usually takes place on the Thursday of the Show. The competition is always hotly contested, with RDA groups turning out with their best costume ideas!

This year, the competition has gone online and is open to all, with a special prize to the Best RDA Entry. Entries are encouraged from all riders, and should any RDA groups wish to enter photographs from previous RWHS the organisers would be delighted to help with these. Please contact the Secretary via info@rwhs.co.uk.

During this difficult time, the RDA are particularity struggling. Their groups are now suspended, but 4000 horses and ponies still need looking after – and over 25,000 disabled children, young people and adults are relying on them to be there for them when the crisis is over. COVID-19 has resulted in all 500 RDA groups having to close, and for many, this means the loss of their vital weekly income, which supports the care of horses and other vital day-to-day expenses. If you are able to help, please donate to the RDA Covid-19 Fund here.
